The Art of Intention: Using Mixed Media Painting to Visualize Your Dreams
Date to be announced - to be held at the Blue Spark Art Studio (#210 - 2190 Fir Street, Vancouver)
Sunday, 1:00 - 5:00pm
$95 (includes art materials and snack)
In this workshop we will:
Build on what we already know using imagery and personal symbols
Acknowledge the “gremlins” that sometimes accompany us on our journey
Find the balance between staying grounded and taking flight
Create a mixed media painting to integrate our dreams for the future.
We believe that what you focus on grows, and there is no better time than now to pay attention to what matters to you. In this workshop, you will have an opportunity to play with your dreams through art-making to see what arises. This creative approach is different than using only your cerebral brain to formulate your goals. The workshop will be held in the Blue Spark Art Studio with space for everyone to create their own mixed media painting. Elaine and Cathie will both facilitate the workshop.

Art, Story, Spirit
June 23 - 28, 2017 at Hollyhock on Cortes Island, BC
Cathie Dunlop is excited to let you know about a workshop she will be co-facilitating this summer with artist Lisa Gibbons and storyteller Dayna Davis at Hollyhock on Cortes Island. Art, Story, Spirit will be held June 23 - 28, 2017.
Explore your creative Self, through mixed media art-making, story telling, and creative inquiry, in a supportive and inspiring environment. Reclaim your creative self, your essential self… your Soul’s Intuition. Using an ancient Russian Fairy Tale as our guiding inspiration, examine rich archetypes and symbolism, while creating your own visual language through the creative process. Together we invite in an element of the divine to our exploration of various mixed media techniques including collage, acrylic painting, creating textures, photo transfers, and application of found objects and ephemera as well as to the creation of totemic dolls. Storytelling, guided inquiry, ritual, and sharing support our deep dive into the creative process.
